Life Is Not A Sprint

Enjoying Each Moment

When we’re young we tend to see life in fast forward and everything is new and exciting. Then as we get older and life gets more complicated our perspectives change. We start to slow down and begin to see that life is not a sprint rather it’s a marathon.

Although football was my sport in high school and college, I had a brief stint on the track team. I ran the 400 & 200 yard dash. If you know anything about the 200, it’s a bit tricky. See you had to be fast but you also had to have endurance to last for the entire race. You had to know when to have a sprint burst and when to maintain a smooth stride.

In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves hurrying from one task to another, trying to accomplish as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. We are constantly bombarded with messages that push us to work harder, move faster and achieve more.

Life is not a sprint it’s all about being present in each moment and enjoying it for what it is worth. What if you were to slow down to enjoy the journey?
